Superintendent's Update November 23, 2015

Post date: Nov 23, 2015 2:29:38 PM

Schools will dismiss early on Wednesday for the Thanksgiving break. I extend to you and your families my best wishes for a wonderful holiday. On behalf of our faculty and staff, thank you for sharing your beautiful children with us. I invite you to join us Thanksgiving eve at 6:00 pm as we conclude a great fall sports season. The Blue Knights will face off against the Panthers of Quabbin Regional High School on the field here in Lunenburg. Come out to support the team, enjoy the wonderful half-time performance of the LHS Marching Band and the enthusiasm the student fans - the LHS Dungeon!

I am pleased to announce Lauren Drury Basque as the 2015 Superintendent’s Award recipient. She is the daughter of Kenneth and Suzanne Basque. At LHS Lauren focused her studies on the sciences including numerous honors and advanced placement courses. She is ranked first in her class. Lauren will be honored at the Worcester County Superintendent’s Roundtable Scholars’ ceremony in January. She selected a quote from Eleanor Roosevelt for that ceremony’s program. The quote certainly captures the essence of this remarkable young woman. "The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience."
