Superintendent’s Update - April 28, 2014

Welcome back from April Break! There was a lot of positive energy in the buildings today as students, faculty and staff returned to school recharged and ready to work. It is assessment time again for a majority of our students who will take the MCAS Mathematics and Science- Technology-Engineering (STE) assessments. Students in Grades 3-8 will begin the mathematics assessments on May 5th with STE assessments for grades 5 and 8 beginning May 6th. Math assessments for grade 10 are scheduled for May 13 and 14. Science assessments for grade 10 students are scheduled for June. Advance Placement examinations are also rapidly approaching for the upper classmen beginning May 13th. More details on assessment dates are available at individual school websites. The students have worked hard all year and are well prepared for these assessments. However, exam period can be a stressful time for many students. Parents are encouraged to speak with teachers and guidance personnel if they have any specific questions or concerns.

The Lunenburg PTO currently has a number of wonderful opportunities that are not only fun and exciting for families but also help support the PTO and the Lunenburg Public Schools.
