UPDATE: Free Meals Extension
On October 8 2020 the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Sonny Perdue announced the extension of flexibilities to allow universal free meals to continue to be available to all children and teens throughout the entire School Year 2020-2021. The flexibilities extended today will allow schools and other community organizations to leverage the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) and Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) to provide meals at no cost through June 30, 2021.
November 20, 2020 Program Update
Hello,
Due to the rise in positive COVID-19 cases the food service program will be making some changes to distribution process of Curbside Grab and Go meals. First we would like to remind all participants to wear a mask when picking up meals, masks are NOT a substitute for social distancing and should still be worn in addition to staying at least six feet apart. To ensure 6 feet of distance all participants are to exit the vehicle and retrieve your bags from a designated table or cart. Staff will NOT be putting bags in vehicle windows, hatchbacks or trunks. The serving time will be adjusted as well hopefully making it more convenient for families to participate. Please expect to exit the vehicle and retrieve your bags from a designated table or cart on November 23 2020 and on November 30 2020 the serving time will change to 11AM to 12:30 PM. Please reach out to Nadine Lorenzen with any questions or concerns. We thank you in advance for your cooperation regarding these adjustments and ask that you be patient as we all work to acclimate ourselves to the new process.
Stay safe,
Nadine Lorenzen
