Jury Duty

MGL Chapter 234A, Section 48 mandates: Each regularly employed trial or grand juror shall be paid regular wages by his employer for the first three days, or part thereof, of juror service. In compliance with this law, employees of the Lunenburg Public Schools called to serve jury duty on a scheduled work day will not lose the day’s pay nor will the day be charged to personal or vacation leave.  If an employee is compensated for jury service, the employee will receive the difference between the employee’s normal earnings for the day and the amount of compensation received.  Employees must submit certification of jury duty service to the Office of the Superintendent.
